I was a waitress at Sandy's in 1972 at the 3821 South Harvard location in Tulsa. I was the fastest waitress there. I could take an order and serve it to a customer in 1 minute and 13 seconds flat. The waitresses prided themselves on being the best and the fastest. I liked the plaid shirts, as well as the plaid accents on the shirts and hat. The busiest day we had while I worked at Sandy's was a birthday party order for 120 hamburgers. We got lots of customers for the once a year special: 10 cent hamburger day! I remember numerous accidents with the shake machine. We'd have to mix up the shake ingredients ourselves. If you didn't remove the shake from the mixer blade while it was spinning just right, you got sprayed all over your blouse, face, and arms. This was always embarassing ~ the mark of a rookie. We had great cooks too. Many had been there five years or more. We'd call out to the cooks: "I need four 'hams,'" which meant 'hamburgers.' It was a fun place to work at. My boss was Larry in 1972.

Per Chris King (Facebook): ý3821 S. Harvard was the first Tulsa Sandys.....(according to the 1969 phone book listing), second was across from TU on 11th, the 3rd was across the street from McLain High School.
